Togo deploys two transit houses in Dapaong to strengthen protection network in Savanes region

In Togo, the deployment of two transit houses in Dapaong marks a strategic extension of the protection network in the Savanes region. The concrete advance is directly championed by the Minister of Solidarity, Gender, Family and Child Protection, Martine Moni Sankaredja, whose presence in the field illustrates the nation’s commitment to its most exposed citizens.

The inauguration of these reception facilities embodies the authorities’ determination to guarantee comprehensive and integrated care.

The system combines immediate protection with a stated ambition for personal reconstruction: psychological support, social accompaniment and active preparation for economic reintegration.

By equipping the site with a functional administrative block and a borehole ensuring access to water, the State and its technical partners provide the conditions of dignity essential to caring for victims.

This political momentum reflects an exemplary synergy between republican institutions, community action embodied by the Women’s Network for Development, and international partners such as UNFPA.

The presence alongside the minister of the Governor of the Savanes region, Affoh Atcha-Dédji, and the UNFPA Resident Representative, Elise Kakam, attests to the strategic centrality given to the northern region in the national social protection roadmap.

By anchoring these places of refuge at the heart of the Savanes, public action gives force and substance to Togo’s legal framework.

From the Code of Persons and the Family to the law protecting learners from sexual violence, legislation thus finds its operational extension on the ground.

The government confirms its ability to transform textual commitments into lasting structures, reaffirming its role as the fundamental guarantor of the dignity, integrity and future of every woman and girl across the entire national territory.
