Sudan’s government of peace unveils three-point plan to secure aid corridors and protect civilians

NYALA, Sudan — NSNA Prime Minister Mohamed Hassan El-Taishi, head of the Government of Peace, has ordered the development of an urgent and comprehensive humanitarian roadmap, declaring the protection of civilians and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian assistance the government’s highest priorities at this critical stage.

El-Taishi issued the directive while reviewing the latest humanitarian and field conditions, emphasizing the need for coordinated action among government institutions, local communities, regional partners, and the international community to remove obstacles preventing relief from reaching people in need, particularly in areas affected by recent developments. The proposed humanitarian roadmap will focus on three immediate priorities: Securing humanitarian corridors.

Establishing safe and sustainable routes to ensure that urgent food, medical supplies, and other essential assistance can reach affected communities without delay. Protecting civilians. Strengthening preventive mechanisms is designed to safeguard local populations and create a more secure and stable environment for civilians. Coordinating the humanitarian response. Bringing humanitarian operations rooms and relevant authorities into a unified coordination framework to accelerate field response and improve the delivery of assistance. The directive comes as the Government of Peace seeks to strengthen stability and respond to the immediate humanitarian consequences confronting civilians across affected areas.

El-Taishi emphasized that humanitarian access cannot be treated as a secondary concern in a conflict environment, but as an essential component of protecting civilian life and restoring conditions for stability. The government said the roadmap is intended to provide a practical framework for translating humanitarian commitments into coordinated action on the ground, with particular emphasis on timely assistance, civilian protection, and effective cooperation with humanitarian partners.
