There are organizations whose name is a program. « Let us love our Africa » (ANA) is one of them. The NGO « Love Our Africa » is now one of the few organizations that works, tirelessly and without calculation, for peace in the world. Born of a profoundly pan-African conviction, it carries a simple premise: no continent can prosper in the din of arms, and Africa, the cradle of humanity, has the duty as well as the legitimacy to speak to the world in the language of peace.
This pan-African dimension is not an ornament of discourse: it is the very engine of the organization. Because it embraces the continent in its entirety from the Sahel to the Great Lakes, from the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean, ANA refuses to treat terrorism as a purely local or regional matter. Where borders are erased in the face of criminal networks, it opposes a solidarity that ignores them just as much. His reading of peril is continental, and this is precisely what gives it its strength.
A few years ago, the Coordinator of the NGO, Bekki Benameur, had already drawn the attention of the world’s leaders to issues related to terrorism and the urgent need for its total eradication. A lucid, almost prophetic cry of alarm, which resonates today with troubling acuity at a time when insecurity is setting so many regions of the world ablaze.
His approach is that of a responsible pan-Africanism. ANA does not content itself with condemning: it proposes, raises awareness, brings together and invites decision-makers and citizens alike to take the measure of the danger. For this organization, world peace is not decreed from the great tribunes; It is built patiently, in prevention, education and cooperation between peoples.
By making Africa an actor and no longer just a theatre of crises, ANA reminds us of an essential truth: the stability of the world depends on the stability of the continent. An Africa that is upright, united and forward-looking can become the beating heart of a peaceful international order, and not the forgotten periphery of the great balances.
This is the strength and originality of « Aimers Notre Afrique »: to make the love of the continent the basis of a universal ambition, that of a world free of terror. A utopia? Perhaps. But great peace has always begun with tenacious utopias, carried by men and women who refused to wait.
