Africa: The NGO ANA « Aimons Notre Afrique », Pan-Africanism at the service of world peace
In an African continent that has been facing security crises, armed conflicts and political tensions for several years, some organizations are choosing to make another voice heard: that of peace, solidarity and unity. The NGO ANA « Love Our Africa » intends to inscribe its action in this perspective, by making pan-Africanism a lever in the service of peace, not only in Africa, but also on a global scale.
ANA’s philosophy is based on a simple conviction: the future of the African continent cannot be dissociated from the construction of a more peaceful world. For its promoters, loving Africa does not only mean defending its interests or resources. It also involves contributing to conflict resolution, combating violent ideologies and promoting dialogue among peoples.
It is in this logic that the organization claims to carry out actions in favor of « zero terrorism in the world ». An ambition that goes beyond African borders and reflects, according to its orientations, a conception of pan-Africanism turned towards international solidarity. Africa would therefore not only be a space that suffers the consequences of terrorism, but also a continent capable of proposing responses and actively participating in the search for solutions.
A few years ago, the NGO’s coordinator, Bekki Benameur, had already drawn attention to issues related to terrorism and the need to work towards its eradication. This approach is part of a stated desire to place prevention, awareness and peace at the heart of the debate.
The originality of ANA’s message lies in this articulation between love of Africa and universal commitment to peace. Its pan-African approach is not limited to the defense of a continental identity: it seeks to transform this identity into a collective responsibility.
In an international context where crises are multiplying, the quest for peace appears to be a long-term struggle. Through its commitment, ANA « Love Our Africa » wants to remind us that Pan-Africanism can also be a message of openness, fraternity and solidarity between peoples. Loving Africa, in this vision, also means contributing to making the world more peaceful.
