Burkina Faso: Modernization of the administration, the winning offensive of the digital transition

In recent years, the Burkinabe State has embarked on an ambitious dynamic of modernization and refoundation of its administrative apparatus. Driven by the strategic vision of the Transition authorities, this digital transformation has reached a new crucial level with the operationalization of three new digital platforms intended to revolutionize access to protocol, diplomatic and consular services.

This vast dematerialization project testifies to the government’s determination to build a more modern, efficient and transparent administration. The first tool, the « Portal of the Burkinabe diaspora », directly responds to the legitimate expectations of our compatriots living abroad by allowing them to register and make their appointments online to obtain consular documents. The second platform, called « E-Protocol », drastically simplifies the procedures for embassies and international organizations accredited in Burkina Faso for their requests for diplomatic cards, special authorizations and access to official fairs. Finally, the third portal centralizes the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its 52 diplomatic missions and consular posts, guaranteeing better visibility of national diplomacy on a global scale.

These major innovations reflect the intensification of the State’s efforts in recent years to bring the public service closer to users, eliminate unnecessary bureaucracy and reduce processing times. After the gradual digitization of the criminal record, the judicial chain, the payment of taxes and the creation of the single portal for public services, this new system consolidates Burkina Faso’s digital sovereignty.

By facilitating interactions for citizens from within and outside the diaspora, the Burkinabe public administration proves that technological innovation is a fundamental lever for good governance. These concrete achievements demonstrate that despite the complex challenges of the moment, the modernization of the country remains an absolute priority, establishing Burkina Faso as a model of administrative agility at the service of the people.
