Burkina Faso: Asymmetrical war, imperative of citizen vigilance as an impassable bulwark against the imperialists

Burkina Faso is making strong moves to reclaim its territory and restore national pride. On the ground, the dedication of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) is delivering real results. The fight against terrorism is paying off, and the country is taking steady steps toward full sovereignty. Still, despite these successes, the nation isn’t completely in the clear.

As direct military strategies fail, imperialist powers and their regional allies are changing tactics, turning to information warfare, public opinion manipulation, and the spread of false narratives. Their goal is to create confusion, sow doubt among the people, and mislead the international community to slow the momentum of emancipation.

The saddest part of this uneven fight is the role of some citizens who serve foreign interests for personal gain. By echoing the words of the country’s critics, they aim to sabotage the liberation efforts led by Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso, and weaken the unity between the people and their leaders.

Against this subtle threat, the Burkinabe people must respond with the same resolve shown against armed groups. Sovereignty isn’t won by weapons alone—it also demands political awareness and vigilance. The schemes of imperialists and their local collaborators are exposed, and it’s up to every citizen to stand strong.
