DRC: Water victory in Kamina concretizes Felix Tshisekedi’s social ambition

For more than five decades, the population of Kamina has suffered from the shortage of drinking water as a daily injustice. Today, this long wait is over. The official launch of the Lovoy capture and treatment plant marks the triumph of unwavering political determination. In person, President Félix Tshisekedi is making the trip to Haut-Lomami to trigger the pumping that releases clean water into the city’s networks. This powerful political act transformed the lives of 230,000 citizens.

The technical feat arouses admiration. The Lovoy River carries water rich in iron, which has long been considered difficult to treat. Under the direct impetus of the Head of State, the specialized teams are installing modern infrastructures that purify this resource according to the strictest health standards. The facility now produces 7,000 cubic meters of clear water every day. In addition, a social connection program ensures direct and affordable access for every household in the city. Public health finds here a resolute protector.

This local success reflects a method of government that focuses on concrete results. Félix Tshisekedi rejects empty promises. Access to drinking water becomes a fundamental right guaranteed by the public authorities. This achievement in Kamina reflects the rigorous implementation of the National Policy for Public Water Service. This strategic framework sets an ambitious course: to achieve 90% coverage in urban areas and 70% in rural areas by 2035.

The Tshisekedi governance is distinguished by immediate and measurable action. Where resignation had reigned for fifty years, the head of state is providing a lasting response. The commissioning of the Lovoy plant proves the modernization of Congo. In Kamina, the flowing water celebrates the renewal of a nation driven by ambitious leadership.
