In Kinshasa, President Félix Tshisekedi is accelerating preparations for the upcoming national dialogue. According to multiple sources, a discreet working commission has been established to examine the format and practical modalities of the future forum. Figures associated with this commission reportedly include Jean-Charles Okoto, Adolphe Lumanu, Abbé Théo, Wivine Moleka, and Samy Badibanga.
This initiative follows a meeting convened on August 8 around President Tshisekedi, which brought together representatives from the religious community, as well as Anthony Nkinzo, Patrick Muyaya, and Fortunat Biselele.
Discussions reportedly focused on organizational matters and the format to be adopted for this national gathering.
The project carries a specific title: « National Dialogue for Peace, Cohesion, and the refoundation of the State. »
The currently envisaged framework would provide for the successive establishment of a steering committee and then a preparatory commission, with religious denominations expected to play a prominent role.
The possibility of involving an international mediator to support the process is also under consideration.
On the procedural front, the president is expected to deliver an official address formally convening the forum. However, the framework as it currently stands has not yet achieved full consensus.
Both the CENCO and the ECC have reportedly expressed reservations about certain elements of the proposed format.
Several points remain to be clarified before the dialogue can effectively take place: its exact composition, the timeline, and the conditions for participation by the various stakeholders are still pending at this stage.
